The Black Country Living Museum is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operator to join our expanding Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of general building repairs and maintenance. Successful applicants will be expected to work weekends, Bank Holidays and occasional evenings.
What are the duties?
- Undertaking repairs and maintenance operations to museum buildings, structures and exhibits.
- Working on the museums historical buildings using traditional methods and materials.
- Safely operating museum vehicles, maintaining tools, equipment and plant while meeting Health & Safety standards.
- Safely operating museum vehicles and carrying out delivery duties as required.
- Maintaining accurate electronic administration.
- Preparing for museum events by setting up and taking down equipment when required.
- Assisting with general site work where appropriate.
What are we looking for?
- Extensive repairs and maintenance experience.
- Skilled in carpentry, plumbing and brickwork.
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g. NVQ or City & Guilds).
- Ability to work on an iconic collection of buildings and collections.
- IT proficient.
- Respectful and inclusive communication skills.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and excellent team working skills.
- Flexible approach to work.
