LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated individual to join a vibrant secondary school in Hackney. We believe every child can flourish academically and socially with the right support. This role requires candidates who are experienced in working alongside KS3/4 students, possess a varierty of skills to enhance the provision within the classroom and enjoy supporting all learning styles.

Job Description:

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills, you will be instrumental in helping our students reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students, including those with special educational needs, adapting teaching materials and methods to suit individual needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and sharing insights with the teaching team and parents/guardians as needed.
  • Offering emotional support and encouragement to students, aiding in the development of their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborating with professionals such as SENCOs and therapists to implement individualized education plans when necessary.
  • Demonstrating strong behaviour management skills to maintain a productive and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualities and qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Previous experience working with students, including those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and follow the direction of the class teacher.
  • A patient and empathetic nature.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong behaviour management skills to effectively support students and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
