Cyber Governance Analyst

We are seeking a Cyber Governance Analyst to join a rapidly expanding cyber security team within a prestigious organisation with a rich history spanning 500 years. This role is crucial in providing governance and advisory support across a vast network, ensuring the successful management of Cyber Security risk within acceptable tolerances.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the definition, management, and improvement of governance structures and reporting channels.
  • Work closely with middle and senior managers to explain complex issues in simple language, including minuting meetings and preparing metrics against KPIs.
  • Lead the management, communication, and adoption of effective Cyber Security Standards.
  • Assist in the definition and maintenance of the cyber security controls framework in line with standards.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive Cyber Security Awareness Campaign ensuring continual improvement and effective monitoring.
  • Drive cyber security understanding and implementation of controls to meet requirements, articulating the significance of non-compliance to internal policies and externally mandated regulation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of Cyber Security management and practices.
  • Experience in influencing and negotiating to build trust and confidence at all levels.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to see the big picture and apply relevant detail.
  • Agility of thought and comfort with complexity, patience, and resilience to drive change.
  • Understanding of risk assessment and management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials.
  • Clear communication skills in verbal, written, and presentational forms.
  • Experience with GDPR risk assessment, external audit activity, and data set audits.
