Disability Assessor - Work Capability Assessment (WCA)

Our client has been awarded the Health Assessment Advisory Service contract for the Department for Work and Pensions in South East England, London, and East Anglia. As a Disability Analyst you will work autonomously to assess the cases of people who are applying for a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). This will involve holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports.

As a Disability Analyst , you will play a crucial role in interviewing claimants to understand the challenges they face.

**Salary:**£43,450.00 (pro rata part-time)

Type: Permanent

Full time: 37.5 hours

Location: Croydon

Responsibilities:

By completing thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face-to-face means you will assess how our claimant's disability/condition/illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non-biased and reassuring manner.

With proven experience of working within a medical background you will;

  • Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
  • Interpret clinical information and evidence.
  • Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct.
  • Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below)
  • An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
  • Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office

Essentials Qualifications (without these your application cannot be considered)

Nurses:

  • Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD only)
  • Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)

Physios/OTs:

  • Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Our client offers a very competitive salary of £43,450 per annum

21 days annual leave, increasing to 25 days from January 2025, plus 8 bank holidays
