IT Support Engineer (Ship Vessels)

The Client:

The Role:
As an IT Support Engineer, you will oversee the support, maintenance, and enhancement of IT infrastructure, directly reporting to the Head of IT.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote support for IT systems and staff.
- Address and resolve IT operational issues promptly.
- Install, test, and maintain both physical and virtual hardware including laptops, printers, and tablets.
- Support and manage software applications.
- Monitor system performance to ensure availability and reliability.
- Implement and uphold IT policies and cybersecurity procedures.
- Escalate complex IT issues and risks.
- Update and maintain IT documentation.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution and project advancement.
Requirements:
- Previously worked as an IT Support Engineer or in a similar role.
- Ideally have 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with vessel systems, specially in the shipping industry.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Skilled in hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Background in Cyber Security would be preferred.
- Knowledge of ship automation systems would be beneficial.
