We are looking for an Senior Organisational Development Officer to join a leading public sector organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the HR lead officer and the wider team to understand development needs and implement successful interventions. This role is crucial in creating, developing, and maintaining a modern, innovative, high-performing, and engaged workforce. The postholder will contribute to the delivery of the Workforce Strategy by providing specialist advice and support across the organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Design and facilitate corporate organisational development strategies related to organisational design, transformation, and change management.
  • Provide specialist advice and support for organisational development and transformation, workforce planning, engagement, culture, EDI, and all people processes.
  • Undertake diagnostics using appropriate tools to identify development needs at organisational and service levels.
  • Support the research, development, and implementation of high-quality improvement/transformation projects.
  • Design and deliver team development sessions, workshops, and events.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of good practice OD solutions and continuously improve ways of working.
  • Evaluate organisational development activities and implement changes for continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CIPD professional membership.
  • Significant HR experience within a large/complex organisation.
  • Proven track record in organisational development, culture change programmes, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrable experience in diagnosing, designing, delivering, and evaluating organisational development interventions.
  • Ability to provide advice and guidance on a range of organisational development matters.
  • Experience in working collaboratively and building productive work relationships.
  • Skilled in presentations and delivering training and development sessions.
  • Knowledge of the challenges facing Local Government.
  • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to adapt information for various audiences.
  • Ability to build effective, inclusive professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
