Position Overview: Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with an experienced SEN team to support students with a range of learning needs. From providing one-on-one assistance to adapting learning materials, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that every student receives the tailored support they require to succeed.

Key Responsibilities: Teaching Assistant

  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Provide direct support to students inside and outside the classroom, including assistance with
  • classroom activities, homework, and personal care tasks as needed.
  • Adapt and modify learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and young people, especially those with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenges.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEN is desirable but not essential.
