I am currently working with a variety of specialist schools based in Leeds. These schools are committed to creating a supportive and enriching learning environment for students with additional needs and individuals on the autism spectrum. With work across Leeds and West Yorkshire, our passionate team is dedicated to empowering students to thrive academically and personally.

As a part-time SEND Teacher in a specialist SEND school, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan and deliver differentiated lessons to learners with diverse needs.
  • Implement effective strategies in line with a learners Educational Health & Care Plan.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes sensory awareness and accommodates individual learning styles.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to students' education and well-being.
  • Utilise effective communication strategies to engage with students and facilitate their social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with parents and external professionals to provide ongoing support and feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Team Teach is desirable but not essential.
