JOB TITLE: International Recruitment Lead (Social Care)

LOCATION: Richmond - Hybrid working (1-2 days a week office)

PAY RATE: £25 per hour paye / £32.53 per hour umbrella

DURATION/HOURS: 3 months (possible extension)/ Mon-Fri 36 hours

START DATE: ASAP

Role purpose:

South London Partnership have been awarded funding from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to support ethical and effective international recruitment of social care workers in South West London. The programme will have a specific focus on strengthening ethical employment practices for social care employers and supporting international care workers who have been displaced as a result of unethical employment practices to find new roles and with pastoral support where needed. SLP are looking for an experienced project manager with skills in employment and community support to lead development and delivery of this programme of work across South West London.

You will lead delivery of a varied programme of work that supports both social care employers and international recruits combining programme development and management with operational delivery. It will involve close working with a wide range of partners including local authorities, social care employers, London ADASS, UKVI and with individual international care workers to provide them with 121 support and advice.

A key element of the role will be to set up and provide a 'job matching' service for displaced international recruits whose social care employer has either lost their sponsorship license of had it revoked to help the care worker get new work and renew their visa. A further key element will be setting up and ensuring delivery of a programme of pastoral support for both displaced workers and international recruits to settle in their new roles and country more generally.

Specific duties & responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage the international recruitment support project
  • Develop a deliver a job matching service for displaced workers in South West London, brokering new roles for them and supporting their new employers to get visas for them quickly.
  • Put in place a package of pastoral support for displaced care workers who may need it drawing on wider public resources to support individuals with limited resource to public funds
  • Monitor and manage the international recruit inbox which will receive notifications of revocations of licences and displaced workers requiring support, working closely with London ADASS, other London sub-regions and SWL boroughs.
  • Commission partners to deliver various aspects of the programme ensuring appropriate contractual mechanisms in place and overseeing partners delivery.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with partners working in similar areas to align and ensure join up between projects.
  • Carrying out all aspects of project management including tracking progress, reporting and maintaining effective governance, risk management and financial management. Analyse and review performance of all project key performance indicators to track performance and identify risks to project delivery and report to partners and funders.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • A good understanding of employment and immigration visa skills and challenges across health and social care.
  • Delivering complex change in a skills and employment / workforce development context.
  • Proven experience of planning and delivering complex projects, using a range of project management tools.
  • Strong track record of working collaboratively and effectively with multiple partners from different organisations to successfully deliver agreed outputs and outcomes.
  • Strong project leadership, management and delivery skills.
  • Ability to problem solve, translate strategic priorities/issues and objectives into solution and deliverables.
