Reed are working with a Secondary School based in Caerphilly, looking for dedicated individuals to join their Specialist Resource Base team, supporting secondary school students who require extra care and attention.
Position: Specialist Resource Base Assistant Location: Newbridge, Caerphilly Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Salary: £12.82 per hour Start Date: September (with the potential for a permanent position after 12 weeks)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with Behavioural, Emotional, and Social Difficulties (BESD)
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Manage challenging behaviours and implement positive behaviour strategies.
- Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support pupil progress.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

- Pupils in the Specialist Resource Base may have complex emotional and behavioural needs.
- They require a supportive and structured approach to manage their learning and interactions.

Requirements:
- Experience working with children with BESD or similar needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
