Family Support Worker
Family Hubs - Barnsley
We are currently recruiting for a proactive and supportive Family Support Worker to work as part of an established team aligned to the family hubs across Barnsley.
Details
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Initial 3 month contract, with the possibility of extension
- Fantastic role providing direct support to families across the borough.
Responsibilities
- The core purpose of this position is to work holistically with the whole family, assessing strengths and needs and coordinating support for each family member.
- You will provide support, advice and information to children, young people and their families, including the provision of practical assistance.
- You will assist social work qualified practitioners in the undertaking of their duties relating to all forms of social care interventions as appropriate.
- You will assist in the promotion of good parenting and provide parents and carers with support and information in relation to parenting and the development of children and young people through a variety of means including group work and one to one sessions as required
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with:
- An excellent knowledge of safeguarding and thresholds of intervention are essential for the position.
- Ability to case hold up to 15 families,
- You will support families across Barnsley so you will need to be able to travel across the borough.
