Student Support and Wellbeing Manager

Hours: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)

TPP are recruiting a proactive Student Support and Wellbeing Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established higher education institution.

The Role:

As a Student Wellbeing Manager, you will oversee and manage the holistic wellbeing and support services for students, focusing on non-academic and pastoral matters. Your primary goal is to create a nurturing environment that promotes mental health and overall wellbeing.

Main responsibilities:

  • Primary Contact Point: Serve as the main contact for students and staff with non-academic and pastoral queries.
  • Wellbeing Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to support students' mental health and wellbeing.
  • Assessments and Evaluations: Conduct assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
  • Mental Health Support: Provide guidance and support to students facing mental health challenges or stressors.
  • Workshops and Training: Organise workshops, seminars, and training sessions on mental health, stress management, and overall wellbeing.
  • Resource Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and support services.
  • Initiative Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives through data collection and analysis.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication channels with students on non-academic matters.
  • Pastoral Care: Offer pastoral care and mental health support, making appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Liaison: Collaborate with internal departments to streamline operations and effectively communicate with students.
  • Support Cyclical Activities: Assist with student surveys, feedback collection, induction programmes, and graduation administration.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with staff and partner organisations.

Requirements:

  • Empathetic and non-judgemental approach
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing high levels of pastoral care
  • Experience contributing to administrative tasks in an academic setting
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to support to students and colleagues, including signposting to additional resources when necessary
