About Our Client:
Our client, a leading company in their sector, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Internal Controls Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and progress towards a Control Accountant role, with comprehensive support from experienced professionals and the broader Controls Team. This role would suit an individual actively studying towards a finance qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with some experience in Internal or External Audit, or a financial accounting role with some experience of testing controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control Testing: Test the design and effectiveness of controls in line with the approved testing plan.
- Documentation: Accurately document the controls testing work and ensure thorough record-keeping.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present and discuss controls testing results with key stakeholders.
- Process Review: Review current processes to recommend controls improvements, supported by the Group Control Accountants.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and report on the completion of control recommendations.
- Project Support: Assist with Controls Team projects as needed.
- Framework Rollout: Support the rollout of the internal control framework across various areas of the business, including supply chain, tax, and more.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Some experience in control testing or a related field is desirable but not essential. This role suits individuals with less experience or technical knowledge but with a keen interest in controls and process improvement.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while receiving support from experienced colleagues.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively present and discuss control testing results with stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to work across different areas of the business and adapt to various tasks and projects.
