Our client is an NHS public sector organisation based in Central London who are looking to recruit a Fire Safety Officer to join their team on an ongoing rolling contract basis. This well-known trust has a history of providing world leading healthcare and has a globally renowned reputation for being one of the best in their specialist area of care.
Your new role
The job is to provide expertise for the Fire, Health & Safety team by ensuring the efficient operation, planning and development of the Fire Safety Services, ensuring these functions are carried out to nationally agreed and recognised standards for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff.As the successful candidate, you will act as the lead competent person in relation to fire safety issues with specific reference to the NHS Firecode standards and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, you will provide day to day fire safety advice and be the lead on providing expert advice to the organisation on the interpretation and application of all fire safety regulations.
You will also ensure the organisation is fully compliant and take steps to ensure any un-compliant issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, it is essential that you have extensive working experience of Fire Safety, preferably gained in Fire Brigade, Armed Forces, Healthcare, Local Authority.You will also need to be a member of a professional body such as the Institute of Fire Engineers or Fire Prevention Officers or Membership of the National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers and have experience of undertaking detailed fire safety audits and experience of reviewing complex construction projects and providing expert fire safety advice.What you'll get in return
