Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Early Years Assistant to join a Gloucester play group. This temporary role involves working closely with two pupils who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP). The ideal candidate will have experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and possess strong communication skills. The hours are set:
Monday 8:45- 11:45
Tuesday 8:45 - 3:30
Wednesday 8:45 - 3:30
Thursday 8:45 - 3:30
Friday 8:45 - 3:30
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to two pupils with EHCP.
- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapt activities to meet the needs of the pupils.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the pupils' progress and well-being.
- Monitor and record the pupils' development and provide feedback.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
