Permanent: Shift Technician

Location: Rugby

Hours of work: 4 on 4 off shift rotation (after 5 shift rotations you have 14 days annual leave):

2 Days - 7am to 7pm

2 Nights - 7pm to 7am

Our client in Rugby who runs a fast-paced manufacturing facility has an opportunity to join their team as a shift technician. Our client has a great reputation in the market and they have a strong employee retention rate and these roles are available due to retirement.

Due to the nature of the business and products which are manufactured this role will suit someone who is apprenticeship trained in Mechanical Engineering discipline. The role is technical and requires training on various machines and process'.

Key duties:

You will be required to safely run and maintain the manufacturing equipment, ensure the smooth and continuous running of the production line in order to meet the plant KPI requirements with a product that meets the defined quality criteria.

Due to the manufacturing site operating various process' the role can vary depending on what department you are working within but the process' include coating and decorating, washing and waste treatment, inside spraying, quality checking and finished pallet testing.

You will be responsible for maintaining the equipment within your area of responsibility in such a condition that quality standards are maintained, and downtime is minimised.

To carry out the required quality checks responsibility and to take the necessary corrective actions and report any non-conformities to the Team Leader and the relevant department

To maximise production and minimise spoilage during the manufacturing process

To carry out the necessary safe repairs to equipment as and when required

To carry out the set-up checks that may follow maintenance work.

On maintenance days you will assist with carrying out the repairs, preventive maintenance, etc. as directed by the Engineering Department

Experience required:

The ideal candidate would have an apprenticeship in a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering discipline. If you have no apprenticeship but have time served experience within a similar role please do apply and we can have a further conversation.

Experience within a manufacturing environment where you are responsible for

Understanding of the importance of H&S within the work place preventative and planned maintenance on production equipment.

Be comfortable learning new process', machinery and equipment.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot any defects.

A team player with strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work alone under your own initiative.

The ability to work well under pressure and organise and prioritise your work load.

Ability to complete paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
