Thriplow Commercials, part of the Thriplow group is looking for an HGV/Plant Technician to join our team at our head office in Duxford.
Thriplow Commercials provides road sweepers and bitumen sprayers to highway maintenance markets. We work in partnership with the private sector and local authorites. Thriplow Commercials Vision is "To provide a market leading service to fleet operators nationally".
We are looking to recruit an experienced HGV / Plant Technician to service our contracts based at our workshop in Duxford.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Ensure vehicles are maintained above the minimum standards required by the DVSA between scheduled service/inspection dates to support Thriplow Group and third party.
- Provide standby and out of hours callout cover when required (van supplied)
- Ensure vehicle chassis and associated vehicle auxiliary engines are maintained in line with the service planner and company policies
- Have the opportunity to work on a range of plant vehicles from light commercial to HGV vehicles
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance at all times
Technical Skills:
- Experienced mechanic (Level 2 plus qualified desirable)
- Be familiar with modern fault code reader diagnostic systems
- Have knowledge of HGV chassis manufacturers and specialist equipment mounted on vehicles (Bitumen Sprayers and Sweepers, Preferred)
- Hold a Category C driving licence
Skills Required:
- Ability to work unsupervised
- High standard of work
- Work well within a team as well as the ability to use own initiative
- Be flexible around working hours and days
- Complete tasks to specified time-scales
- Be organised with day-to-day paperwork (e.g. job sheets and parts ordering)
- Hold relevant licences to drive or test vehicles and equipment
