- *Learning Support Assistant responsibilities:**
- Adapt teaching style with regards to students' individual needs.
- Prepare learning materials for lesson plans.
- Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
- Work alongside the classroom teacher to ensure a smooth-running learning environment.
- Work with relevant professionals such as speech and language therapists.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and guardians to ensure the best care of pupils.
- Build strong and professional relationships with both students and colleagues.
- *Learning Support Assistant qualifications/experience:**
- Experience in supporting students with additional needs including ADHD, Autism, and challenging behaviour (preferred but not essential).
- Familiarity in supporting young people on the autism spectrum (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies (preferred but not essential).
- Have substantial experience in either the Further Education and Training sector or the Secondary Education sector (preferred but not essential).
- Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant and satisfactory references (preferred but not essential).
- Hold GCSEs in both Maths and English, at grade A-C or equivalent.
- A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
- Proven experience of maintaining quality rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
