Role summary:

The Service Engineer delivers our service products directly to the customer, working on a variety of residential equipment located at sites both regionally and nationally where needed. As the face of Mitsubishi Electric, excellent customer service in conjunction with top quality engineering and problem-solving skills are essential. The service engineer will report to the Service Manager and will work closely with the Service Administration team as well as liaising with other Technical Services teams where needed. Service Engineers will carry out a variety of activities on customer sites including planned preventative maintenance (PPM), quoted/remedial works, commissioning, and emergency callouts. A thorough understanding of all residential products and equipment technology will be required.

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 5 years heating industry experience
  • General knowledge of the U.K. heating and ventilation industry
  • General knowledge of U.K. building and water regulations
  • Unvented Hot Water qualification
  • Electrical qualifications
  • Full driving license
  • CSCS card holder
  • Proficient IT and Microsoft Office skills
  • F Gas and/or NVQ Level 2 in refrigerant & air conditioning is desirable but not essential
  • Recognized HVAC Service and Maintenance qualifications
  • Experience working with members of the public and the sensitivities of working in their homes

To be Successful in this role you will need to:

  • Perform all activities in-line with customer service standards, department standards and company principles.
  • Service and maintain equipment to a high standard in line with company and industry standards
  • Effectively problem solve ensuring each activity results in clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Conduct on-site repairs to a high standard ensuring the minimum amount of downtime for the end user.
  • Produce concise, well written technical reports that are submitted on time and in full.
  • Track, benchmark and develop your technical ability on new and existing products ensuring the highest level of knowledge is maintained
  • Always comply with Health & Safety in the course of your duties and support the administration team in the creation of risk assessments and method statements that adhere to this.
  • When liaising with all areas of the business engage positively with outcomes focused on customer centricity and a 'best in industry' service
  • Competently evaluate information provided by customers to diagnose faulty equipment.
  • Effectively problem solve on the customer's behalf
  • Provide appropriate solutions and recommendations using customer focus and commercial awareness.
  • Always ensure courteousness and helpfulness to customers.
  • Keeping abreast of product developments and new product releases.
  • Proactively maintain a high level of product knowledge on all aspects of the LES Residential product range.
