Audit Graduate

We have an exciting opportunity for a bright and motivated graduate wishing to start their Auditing career within our client, a financial services company based in Slough. This role offers the chance to develop a robust understanding of audit principles within an established and successful company, including risks, governance and controls.

This is a one-year fixed term contract initially with the potential to be extended.

Salary is £25k rising to £29k after one year if contract is extended, plus excellent benefits including private health care and 25 days' holiday.

Office-based in Slough.

Duties include:

  • Identify opportunities to improve business operations, processes and controls through learning the audit group methodology.
  • Develop sound knowledge of audit principles and an understanding of the group audit philosophy, methods and techniques.
  • Supporting the Internal Audit Manager to perform and deliver end-to-end audits of different processes, risks, governance and controls as well as managing the internal audit systems and related paperwork.
  • Managing paperwork for the audit plan to ensure it meets the prescribed standards.
  • Ensure actions from audits are implemented.
  • Monthly updates to the Internal Audit system.
  • Build positive relationships with the business areas.

Skills required:

  • Previous business knowledge is desirable.
  • Compliance with Internal Audit conduct rules.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word and Power Point is essential.
  • Exposure to Accounting and operational systems is advantageous.
  • Quantitative analysis.
  • Practical approach to problem solving.
  • Collaborative approach.
  • Ability to read procedures and translate them to process mapping.
  • Good team player.
  • Professional approach.
