Conveyancing Legal Assistant

We are looking for a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to our legal team. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a variety of tasks and will offer a reliable and efficient service to our clients, many of whom may be experiencing challenging life events. This role requires a professional and friendly approach, with a commitment to maintaining high standards in line with LEXCEL and Investors in People.

Day to day of the role:

  • Manage the Fee Earner's diary and prepare files for billing.
  • Screen incoming calls and handle client communications with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Undertake typing of correspondence, photocopying, filing, sending faxes, and opening new files.
  • Sort and prioritise mail, emails, and messages, ensuring timely responses and action.
  • Deal with client matters appropriately and provide support across all areas of work.
  • Prepare straightforward legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Uphold the standards set by LEXCEL & Investors in People, as well as the requirements of the Law Society.
  • Be familiar with the Solicitors Accounts Rules, particularly those affecting the handling of client funds.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a legal support role, preferably within conveyancing.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide a professional service to clients.
  • Proficiency in legal case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards of work.
  • Understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and their practical implications.
