We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Technician to join our team at a further education college in Oxfordshire. This role offers an immediate start and is ideal for someone passionate about carpentry and eager to contribute to the educational environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide technical support and expertise in carpentry to both students and faculty.
- Prepare materials and equipment for classes and ensure all resources are available and in good condition.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of the carpentry workshop.
- Support students in understanding and applying carpentry techniques in practical sessions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop engaging and effective educational materials and practical sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Carpentry Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong practical knowledge of carpentry tools and machinery.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
- Relevant qualifications in carpentry or related fields are preferred.
