Assistant Financial Controller

They are seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their small but friendly team. The successful candidate will coordinate and complete financial reports, assist with compliance audits, monitor internal controls, and compile budgets and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Finance Management: Oversee accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports and coordinate regulatory reporting.
  • Compliance: Manage government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in compiling annual budgets, quarterly outlooks, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Margin Analysis: Conduct gross margin analysis for customer and product portfolios.
  • Support: Provide critical support during holidays and emergencies, covering key finance department duties.
  • Payment Processing: Manage supplier payment runs and process credit notes.
  • Reporting: Produce weekly flash reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Financial Controller with significant accounting expertise.
  • Intermediate user of accounting software and Excel (pivot tables, index matching, lookups).
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
