Job Description
- Job Title: Metallurgical Laboratory Apprentice
- Job Type: Apprentice
- Location: Consett
- Hours: 40 hours
You should be a highly motivated individual with a willingness to learn. You should have good attention to detail and be prepared to work as part of a close-knit team in a warm and welcoming company, you'll be supported and guided every step of the way. We are looking for applicants that shine, that are willing to get stuck in, contribute to the group, and become a member of our team.
Main Purpose of Role
- Support the day to day business requirements for the laboratory.
- To carry out metallurgy and routine laboratory testing in an accurate and professional manner to tight timescales, with full and accurate recording of results on worksheets.
- To verify compliance with specifications and requirements and to immediately draw attention to the laboratory manager of any deviations.
- To keep equipment, clean and functional and to advise the laboratory manager of any problems.
- To work in accordance with Internal Testing Procedures.
- Performing metallurgical and mechanical tasks.
- Deliver testing within agreed timescales, with right first-time aptitude
- Accurate working and recording of results
- Good laboratory housekeeping
- Flexibility to meet customer requirements
