Quality Systems Supervisor

The Position

Applications are invited for a Quality Systems Supervisor to work at our SPF (UK) Ltd, Doncaster site. As this role involves working in the feed industry it would be beneficial for applicants to have experience in this field. This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As a Quality Systems Supervisor your duties and responsibilities will vary based on factory requirements but will include:

The Person

  • Acting as the co-ordinator between SPF UK and Symrise quality teams.
  • Ensuring SPF and Symrise requirements are fulfilled and incorporated within the SPF UK quality management system and SOP's.
  • Participate in supplier qualification and evaluation.
  • Ensuring production is undertaken in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Checking the raw material and spot checks on ingredient/s deliveries, along with the completion of ABPR sheets.
  • Arrange and complete internal factory calibrations, scales, moisture and PH levels.
  • Arrange for samples and swabs to be sent for correct testing (often in designated timeframes based on shelf life).
  • NIR (Near Infared Spectroscopy) and chemistry testing to be completed.
  • Ensure information is recorded in a timely manner as required on the correct systems/documents provided.
  • Update files and complete reports so as they are readily available, when required (inclusive of paper and electronic files).
  • To lead various audits inclusive of internal audits, glass audits, HACCP, ISO9001, FSSC and weekly GMP audits.
  • Ensure the outcomes / required actions following audits are fully investigated and completed, inclusive of following up on CA1's and the full completion of close outs.
  • To complete the required monthly reports and inform management of any discrepancies or non-conformances.
  • Day to day supervision, implementation and control of product quality, HACCP and documentation.
  • Leading monthly quality meetings, along with attending various quality and HACCP meetings, when required.
  • To ensure the factory hygiene and quality standards are maintained and improved in line with the expectations of the business, and be responsible for pest control within the SPF area.
  • Implement and check daily cleaning schedules and CIP systems.
  • To identify and carry out training, as required.
  • To complete other ad hoc tasks / reasonable requests as and when requested by management.

Requirements

  • Educated to a good level.
  • Knowledge of HACCP systems, auditing processes/documentation/reports, legal requirements, traceability systems and audit trails.
  • Experience working in the feed industry within a quality/technical role would be advantageous.
  • Have excellent communication skills and able to converse at all levels .
  • Be proactive and organised - able to prioritise workload, achieving designated timeframes/deadlines for work being completed.
