We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team and create healthy, delicious meals for our patients, staff, and visitors.

As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of fresh, wholesome meals tailored to meet the dietary needs of patients, including those with special requirements such as allergies, intolerances, and medical conditions. You will also be involved in menu planning, ensuring that all meals are prepared in line with hospital nutrition guidelines, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a range of nutritious and tasty meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Adapt menus to meet specific dietary and nutritional needs, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and medical requirements.
  • Work closely with dietitians and nutritionists to ensure food aligns with patient recovery plans.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards at all times.
  • Contribute to the development of seasonal menus, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients where possible.
  • Assist in ordering and managing stock, ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements, nutrition, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team player with excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality meals and enhancing the patient experience.
  • Relevant qualifications in catering, food hygiene, and safety (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
