Field Service Engineer - Electrical Controls

I am currently seeking a talented Field Service Electrical Controls Engineer to play a pivotal role for an exciting packaging machinery company.

Role Overview: As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, breakdown, service, and repair of capital equipment, with a focus on inspection machines. You'll work closely with our skilled team to ensure seamless integration of PLC systems through ladder logic, SCADA, PLC programming, and HMI settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of packaging machinery, particularly inspection machines.
  • Programming and integration of PLC systems using ladder logic.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving electrical and control system issues.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Providing technical support and training to customers as needed.
  • 2-3 visits a week visiting customers.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Understanding of electronic circuits and schematics
  • Use of electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter)
  • Ability to troubleshoot to board level
  • Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of packaging machinery, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI settings. However, training can be provided.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
