IT Operations Manager

We are looking for a skilled and strategic IT Operations Manager to manage various IT projects, systems, and deliver end-user support servicesfrom simple to complex issues. You will improve IT processes, using new technologies when they are available. You are an IT expert who can deal with change and adapt. You are proactive and open to different technologies and tasks. You will mainly be working in a Microsoft environment.

You will have the ability to work remotely, but you will need to work at our London Canary Wharf office as required. Normal working hours are from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute user onboarding and deboarding processes, including training new users on the usage of Newsweek systems.
  • Provide technical support to end users on questions and issues around software (including MS 365) and hardware. Support level ranges from basic assistance through to complex tasks and highly technology-specific issues.
  • Create and manage SLAs for the different processes in IT support.
  • Manage IT assets and budget for the region. Provide periodic reports to management on budget/variance and provide an action plan when this goes above threshold.
  • Assist in vendor selection and implementing new solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal stakeholders, including training and presentations of systems. Supporting and guiding management and executives to understand the need for change.
  • Install and maintain workstations and other hardware.
  • Proactively identify and implement solutions to optimise IT systems and processes. Develop IT policies and processes
  • Support data handling and processing according to legal and company policy
  • Be the first line of defense against any malware or hacking incidents in the organisation.
  • Lead and take part in various ad-hoc projects for the IT department.
  • Any other reasonable duties to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements:

  • Significant relevant experience as an IT Operations Manager or equivalent senior level role, covering the key responsibilities of this role.
  • Significant relevant experience in providing technical support to end users in a Microsoft cloud environment; from 1st to 3rd level complex support.
  • Relevant experience in training and presenting to end users and management.
  • Strong grasp of IT security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., Data and GDPR).
  • Comfortable with change and adaptable to using different technologies, systems, and approaches.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Professional and approachable customer service.

Desirable:

  • Relevant Microsoft qualifications.
