Are you an experienced Music Teacher with a passion for leading and inspiring students? Do you have a proven track record of teaching music in a secondary school setting? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Music to join our team and lead the music department at our secondary school in Darwen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Delivering engaging and inspiring music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Planning, preparing, and implementing a comprehensive music curriculum.
- Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress and attainment.
- Organizing and leading extracurricular music activities, including school concerts and performances.
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop and share best practices and resources.
- Supporting and mentoring other music teachers within the department.
- Participating in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one).
- Valid and contactable professional references.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
