Are you an experienced Music Teacher with a passion for leading and inspiring students? Do you have a proven track record of teaching music in a secondary school setting? We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Music to join our team and lead the music department at our secondary school in Darwen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing the music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Delivering engaging and inspiring music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Planning, preparing, and implementing a comprehensive music curriculum.
  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress and attainment.
  • Organizing and leading extracurricular music activities, including school concerts and performances.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and share best practices and resources.
  • Supporting and mentoring other music teachers within the department.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Valid and contactable professional references.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
