Credit Controller

  • Job Type: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days working from home)
  • Salary: £30K- £35K DOE

My client is looking for a Credit Controller to join their team and help minimize financial risk to the company. The role involves investigating and evaluating the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, analysing credit risk, and working closely with Sales and Customer Service departments. The ideal candidate will be proactive in using their skills and SAP functionality to maximise sales and cash receipts while mitigating bad debts.

Day to day of the role:

  • Research and verify credit data on customers to establish or update lines of credit, assessing and recommending credit limits.
  • Investigate and resolve customer invoice disputes to facilitate payment or issuance of credit.
  • Review customer accounts for aging unpaid balances and pending orders, solicit payments on overdue accounts, and secure payment arrangements.
  • Follow up on payment arrangements and recommend transfer of outstanding accounts to collection agencies.
  • Maintain various files and records associated with delinquent accounts and credit risks.
  • Ensure all targets are achieved in line with management directives and goals.
  • Work closely with Sales teams to resolve disputes in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP is helpful but not essential
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyse financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss accounts.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • Good knowledge of Credit Insurance.
  • Experience working with multi-currency accounts.
