Premier Recruitment Group is working on behalf of prestigious client who is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic in Takeley, Essex who needs to have both a good depth and breadth of knowledge of heavy motor vehicles and, preferably, will hold at least a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification or equivalent. They will be part of a small but enthusiastic, friendly, and growing team of mechanics with a focus offering excellent customer service.This is full time and permanent position.
With the nature of the work involved, sound training and support will be given.
- To perform vehicle maintenance or trouble shoot defects and carry out repairs as necessary.
- To perform servicing and MOT preparation
- Carry out occasional breakdowns using company service vans.
- Strong experience that has both breadth and depth of knowledge of trucks, trailers, engines, gearboxes, axles, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnosis and be able to use diagnostic equipment.
- Produce details of job on a job card, service sheet and daily time log
- Communicate with supervisory staff regularly to keep them updated on the progress of your job
- Be aware and responsible for Health & Safety of yourself and other employees.
- Shift pattern: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Additional items:
- Welding experience preferred but not essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CE LGV Licence preferred but not essential.
- Experience of crane operations preferred but not essential.
