Purchasing and Administration Assistant

Salary: £29,700 per annum plus benefits

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week (flexible working available)y

We are currently seeking a Purchasing and Administration Assistant, to join our Shop team in one of the most iconic buildings in the world, St Paul's Cathedral.

As a member of the team, you will work with the Buyer to help restock the shop, update our EPOS system and ensuring the smooth operation of back-of-house on a daily basis. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the organisation and efficiency of the shop's inventory and operations. You will also offer additional administrative assistance including managing and maintaining the eCommerce website.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and maintaining stock inventory levels.
  • Ensuring products are purchased at the right time.
  • Assist with stock analysis and reporting, compiling reports on product performance and statistics.
  • Regularly updating and maintaining our epos system to ensure it remains current and up to date.
  • Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery of all stock.
  • Input delivery of stock on the shop's EPOS system with accuracy.
  • Assist in the setup of new products and suppliers.
  • Update and maintain the St Paul's shop e-commerce website, uploading stock images and content.
  • Carrying out perpetual stock checks with the Shop Floor Manager and to assist with the annual stock take.
  • Work closely with the shop team regarding product knowledge.
  • To take on additional administrative duties.

We are looking for you to have:

  • Good skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • A good standard of numeracy, literacy and commercial awareness.
  • Experience in working in a busy retail environment.
  • A good understanding of supply chain procedures.
  • Experience of using EPOS systems.
  • Proficient in data entry
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with confidence across a range of people, internally and externally.
