Social Worker - Kinship Assessment Team

Our client, Gloucestershire Council, is seeking three Social Workers for its Fostering service.

The pay rate available for these roles is £35 umbrella + up to £150 per week support with mileage or accommodation.

Kinship Assessment Team

  • The Kinship Assessment Team assess and supports kinship carers, we work closely with children's social workers undertaking SGO viabilities, SGO assessment for court and kinship fostering assessments.
  • We also support SGO carers post order.
  • We are a team that covers the whole of the UK and no day is ever the same.

Fostering Support Team (1 x full-time, 1 x part-time - 4 days per week)

  • The role includes supporting and supervising foster carers to ensure they provide the best quality care to meet the needs of vulnerable children as set out in their care plan.
  • Safeguarding is our priority, and we ensure that households comply with the National Minimum Standards for fostering.
  • We supervise 190 fostering households in the team, run support groups and support with foster carer training.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to fit into this busy but welcoming team, undertake annual reviews, hold a caseload, and help with identifying placements for children.
  • Regular reflective supervision is prioritised by managers in the team, opportunities to learn and develop skills are available.
  • Hybrid working

Requirements of the role:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Fully Social Work England registered
  • Must have significant experience in the required field – mainstream fostering support or kinship
