Financial Controller

Workwell Outsourcing is a division of Workwell with increasing prominence. We have an exciting opportunity available for a Financial Controller to join the team based at the division's new offices at Wharfebank Mills in Otley.

You will be an integral and collaborative member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for managing the finance team and key components of the operational finance within the business, reporting to the Finance Director. This role is a key part of the division's long-term development plan and there are opportunities to evolve and develop as the Group grows. The Group aspires to continue its growth trajectory.

4 business have been brought together to form the Outsourcing Division, the businesses need to be brought together and consolidated over the next year to 18 months.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Overseeing the delivery of the monthly management reporting (currently for 8 companies) and variance analysis to the Board, providing insightful commentary to highlight any key trends, risk, and opportunities.
  • Oversee day to day accounting operations, including:
  • Review of Agency funding and key control accounts as part of the weekly operational cycle to help manage risk at a customer level. Working closely with the Director of Operations, who oversees the Pay & Bill and Credit Control departments.
  • Supervising and managing financial department staff
  • Billing and Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Monthly staff payroll
  • Ensuring adherence to and continued development of the internal control environment
  • Sending the weekly BACs file to pay agency workers on behalf of Agencies.
  • Overseeing the audit process and liaising with auditors and third party advisors where?required.?
  • Management of the ID facility and acting as key contact for lender relationship manager and auditors.
  • Involvement in the implementation of changing of bespoke business critical systems which link the operational cycle to finance.
  • Liaison with agency customers, this role is not a traditional finance role as the business model is back-office support and risk management for agency customers. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to liaise with customers.
  • Ad Hoc analysis as required for MD and FD, including decision-making support for pitches to revenue & margin growth.
  • Assist FD in the preparation of business forecasts.
  • Other projects and ad-hoc requirements, as required to support the FD, MD and Group Finance, requests.

Role Requirements

  • Must be?Qualified ACA/ CIMA
  • Positive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively without close supervision and on own initiative.
  • Highly organised/structured approach, with the ability to co-ordinate many tasks simultaneously and to tight deadlines
  • Well organised and the ability to use time wisely and efficiently.
  • Positive attitude and motivation to succeed as part of growing Group of Companies.
  • Dependable and committed to delivering high quality work.
  • Ability to problem solve and identify solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with Sage and Xero preferable but not essential.
