Workshop Radio Technician - St Neots - Attractive Package

Role: Workshop Radio Technician

ALH Recruitment are looking for a Workshop Radio Technician to step into a great opportunity with a leading Client of ours in St Neots.

Job Purpose:

We are looking for an enthusiastic person that thrives in a busy environment to join our Clients' workshop team. As either an experienced Radio Technician or someone with a passion for electronics you could be the ideal candidate. Experience in Motorola Commercial and Professional Series products including MOTOTRBO, Capacity Plus and Linked Capacity Plus, as well as basic analogue and digital programming skills, would be an advantage.

Key Duties:

  • Troubleshooting & repair of high-end radio products down to the component level
  • PAT testing of electrical equipment
  • Prepare equipment for hire and sale, both radio and Public Address
  • Attendance at client events, when required, possible weekend work may be involved.
  • Having a good hand for soldering and identifying electronic components
  • Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and service schedules to repair customer product.
  • Extensive troubleshooting to the component level for both analogue and digital radios
  • Completely repair reports via Service Software
  • Communicating with customers by telephone
  • Advising Line Manager of recurring issues

Experience and Qualifications ( desirable) :

  • A minimum of One-year electronics or RF experience,
  • An understanding of RF theory and basic electronics at a component level,
  • Proficiency at electrical circuit troubleshooting and the operation of test equipment,
  • Experience with Motorola communication equipment (e.g., two-way radios) and public safety systems is an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ( Essential) :

  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to build & maintain good morale.
  • Must have a 'can do' attitude.
  • Must be able to develop an understanding of communication technologies.
  • Must want to stay current with trends in communication equipment and legislation.
