Are you a dynamic and motivated classroom practitioner with a proven record of raising attainment? Prospero is seeking a passionate Teacher of economics and Business studies to join an Outstanding school.

We are looking for an individual who can meet the below expectations:

  • have a good relevant first degree and be QTS qualified by the start date;
  • have the subject knowledge to teach the required subjects at BTEC levels 1- 3 and A level;
  • be able to motivate and inspire students
  • be committed to working successfully as a member of a team;
  • have strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

About the School

The school is a successful academy for 11-19-year-olds and is a comprehensive school with 1800 students, 400 of those are in the Sixth Form. Many of their students progress to their Sixth Form and the vast majority then on to university and higher education.

The school was rated as Outstanding by OFSTED at their last Inspection in 2016 and they are very proud to be one of only two secondary schools in London (and one of only 16 secondary schools in the United Kingdom) to have been awarded the highest level of the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award: Level 2. They also have Artsmark Gold, Sportsmark and Healthy Schools status.

They work closely with Imperial College and other higher education providers to offer CPD for a variety of primary and secondary schools and have been awarded the Professional Development Gold Quality Mark by the Institute of Education to reflect their commitment to developing staff professionally.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent (to be offered supply teaching work)
  • Previous experience working in a UK school would be ideal
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all required vetting checks
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
