Due to expansion, IDH is looking to employ a Working Site Foreman. If you are an experienced foreman and looking for the responsibility of running your own projects whilst still getting to physically build masterpieces with your hands, then this position is for you! Please get in touch.

IDH will support you by providing all the training necessary to be a high performing Working Foreman!

IDH specialises in home improvement services including extensions, renovations, new builds, and commercial work. We also develop our own projects and aspire to be the best in Edinburgh and Lothians.

We specialise in high-end home improvement projects and have the privilege of working in some of the most beautiful homes across the country. Our focus is on delivering flawless quality work to our clients, ensuring they have an enjoyable and stress-free experience throughout the entire build process.

As a Working Site Foreman, your primary responsibility will be to manage a construction project from start to finish. You will oversee a team of joiners and sub-contractors to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget. Additionally, using your joinery skills, you will be required to be physically involved in the construction process.

Your team on site will include you as the Foreman, a joiner, and an apprentice. You will have direct access to our Contracts Manager for assistance.

Salary and Benefits

  • Between £19.23 - £22.25.
  • Monthly Bonus opportunity through our squad of the month bonus system.
  • £50 per month mobile phone allowance or company phone.

Main Duties

Your responsibilities include (training will be provided);

  • Work to a programme, understanding construction drawings and job details.
  • Take measurements and create accurate material and works lists.
  • Set out works accurately.
  • Ensure that the project is completed on time by managing the site on a weekly basis and meeting all job programme targets, in line with IDH procedures.
  • Manage IDH joiners and apprentices.
  • Train the apprentice joiners.
  • Manage sub-contractors by scheduling site visits, monitoring progress, and ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure all trades are carrying out the works as per our site programme.
  • Be part of weekly site meetings and follow up actions required on site.
  • Ensure materials required are ordered within required timescales.
  • Ensure the site is kept secure, clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensure your site complies with Health and Safety requirements.
  • Prepare completion / finishing lists and complete works required.

Skills Required

  • Must be an experienced joiner.
  • Must have site supervisory experience.
  • Must have good organisational skills and be able to multi task.
  • Must be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Being able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and resolve issues.
