We are supporting a technology business based just south of Cambridge as they seek to recruit an Assistant Group Accountant to join their team. This role is newly created due to some internal changes, and they have decided to look for a recent graduate to join, who can learn and develop under an experienced accountancy team. Within this role, you will report into the Finance Manager.
As the incoming Assistant Group Accountant, you will go through an extensive training programme with various members of the team. Once trained, you will then be tasked with the following duties:
- Bank reconciliations
- Producing monthly reports
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with month end journals
- Assisting with forecasting and budgeting
Due to the nature of this vacancy, the successful candidate will ideally have achieved a 2:1 in their degree in a relevant subject, or completed a relevant qualification such as AAT through an apprenticeship. Any prior exposure to accounting systems and principles will be considered advantageous. The key attributes needed for this position include:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- Inquisitive and adaptable in your approach to tasks
- Good IT literacy skills
- Keen to learn and progress further
