A Financial Services client of mine in the heart of London are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join them permanently to support their prime brokerage operations working on both green and brown field projects.

Description
Your key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Working on strategic green field and brown field projects in Prime Brokerage and Business as Usual requests.
- Collaborating closely with business teams to understand their needs and translate them into software solutions
- Performing software testing and debugging to ensure high-quality outputs
- Documenting all stages of the software development lifecycle
- Collaborating with other Software Engineers to design and implement features
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the software development processes
- Adhering to company policies and regulations, and ensuring software compliance
Profile
A Successful Software Engineer will have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience working in software development
- Knowledge and experience of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities
- Hands on experience across Java, SQL Server, Postgres, Angular, Spring, Docker
- Commercial experience of Unix shell scripting & Messaging (Kafka, JMS, Solace)
- Prior Knowledge of Gitlab source control, CI/CD. DevOps
- Experience of digital assets and technologies as a bonus
- Exposure to Test-Driven Development or Behavior Driven Development as an advantage
- Cloud technologies, deployment, design and any PostgreSQL/Sybase experience as a plus
- Previous Experience within the financial services industry
