Specification Sales Manager – Field Sales

OA is on the lookout for a Specification Sales Manager to join our client, a respected designer and manufacturer of high-quality commercial and residential wallcoverings.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a field sales professional to become part of a friendly and ambitious team within a vibrant and fast-paced business environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for securing product specifications and driving sales to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets. You'll also be tasked with nurturing existing accounts and uncovering new ones to boost sales in your territory.

Location: London

Hours: Monday to Friday. 8:30 – 5pm. Remote working however the role is field based.

Salary: Basic salary £60,000 + £8,000 in commission subject to hitting targets.

Specification Sales Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • Securing product specifications and driving sales to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Implement the Company's sales and marketing policies.
  • Effective appointment making and journey planning.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships by regular customer contact and visits.
  • Tactical customer development planning and implementation.
  • Maintenance of the sales projects database.
  • Development of new business opportunities by cold calling, networking and ‘drive by'.
  • Making customer presentations in a persuasive manner.
  • Solving on-site technical challenges and making sound commercial decisions relating to pricing andterms.

Specification Sales Manager - Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of three years in the specification industry.
  • Experience in interior finishes or other sectors preferred.
  • Field sales experience.
  • Good planning, organisational, analytical thinking and listening skills are essential to ensure efficient working.
  • Job holders should be self-confident, results oriented, independent and energetic.
  • The ability to handle rejection is important.
  • The job holder should be motivated by and gain job satisfaction from providing customers with an excellent level of service, seeing projects through to fruition and having an input into Company policy and strategy.
