Exceptional Opportunity: To support a pupil in year 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a Primary School in ?Hounslow (Isleworth).
SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to present a unique and rewarding role for an experienced SEND teaching assistant to join a dynamic 2-form entry primary school located in Hounslow. This position involves supporting a pupil in year 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is pre-verbal.
Position: SEND teaching assistant for pupil with Autism Spectum Discorder (ASD). you will play a crucial role in providing 1:1 support to a year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is pre-verbal. Your role will be to facilitate the child's participation in classroom activities, promote social interaction, and support their individual learning and development.?
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support to the pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Help implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies
- Facilitate the child's communication and language development through alternative communication methods
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress
Requirements:
- Relevant experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) or similar special educational needs
- Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
