Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join a high-quality manufacturing business and provide effective quality control from goods inward inspection, through to the final inspection.

My client is looking for someone with a minimum of five years of previous experience in a similar QA role within a fast-moving production environment and with a good understanding of ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices and ISO9000.

Main Duties:

  • Providing QA data to support implementation of corrective actions with the support of the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Facilitate a culture of RFT throughout production by facilitating daily MRB meetings, managing the internal issues raised, promoting process compliance, conducting RCA and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and run a strategic Goods Inwards QA inspection process to ensure incoming materials meet required drawings and specifications, whilst ensuring continuity of supply to production.
  • Recording of all NCR's (Non-conformities) and development of associated reporting structure to enable QA related issues to be clearly identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Clear communication of all QA related issues, both internally and externally, with the objective of gaining a swift resolution to non-conformities and develop broader product knowledge through use of RCA and other similar techniques.
  • Review and develop task specific work instructions in conjunction with Product development and Production support. Conduct periodic reviews of shop floor work instructions to ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Supporting the Purchasing Team / Supplier quality engineer to review supplier metrics with the target of improving supplier performance/ parts delivery into factory.

The ideal candidate will have experience with QMS Procedures, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong knowledge and application of FAIR, PPAP & FMEA. You will need to have an good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
