Salary: £40,000 - £70,000 (DOE) + Commission

Our client, a reputable and well-established Lloyd's broker, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven sales professional to join their team as a Development Executive specialising in Professional Indemnity insurance. The Role:

As a Professional Indemnity Development Executive, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and expanding the company's portfolio within the North Region. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and delivering tailored insurance solutions to meet the needs of professional clients.

This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to business development, along with a deep understanding of the Professional Indemnity insurance market. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through various channels, including networking, cold calling, referrals, and industry events. Develop and implement effective strategies to build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored insurance solutions. Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling and accurate sales pitches, presentations, and proposals to potential clients, showcasing the benefits of the company's Professional Indemnity insurance products and services.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities and ensure the company remains competitive in the market.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including underwriting and claims departments, to ensure seamless service delivery and optimal client outcomes. Provide feedback to these teams to improve product offerings and client satisfaction.
  • Reporting & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and progress towards sales targets. Utilize CRM systems to manage customer data and generate regular reports for senior management.
  • Target Achievement: Consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.

Requirements:

  • Sales Experience: Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets within the insurance industry, preferably in Professional Indemnity or related commercial insurance lines.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, including active listening, persuasive speaking, and the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Strong negotiation skills with a focus on closing deals and securing long-term client commitments.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent multitasking, time management, and organizational abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Resilience & Drive: Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Professional Indemnity insurance, including key market players, regulatory requirements, and typical client needs.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.
