CNC Turner / Miller
A long-established engineering firm and leading specialist in design and manufacture of hydraulic powered machinery, cylinders and valves for several industry sectors, including Whisky, Subsea and Energy located on the South side of Aberdeen close to the WPR is looking for an experienced CNC Turner/Miller - must be able to program and set up machines, to join their team.
Duties Include:
- To machine the range of the companies parts accurately, in an efficient manner and to a high quality standard.
- To work safely and to comply with the companies HSEQ policy and guidelines
- You will be responsible for your own personal health and safety and that of those around you.
- To ensure that the work you carry out complies with instructions given
- To be aware of activity target times and make every effort to ensure targets are achieved or bettered
- You will be required to hold Toolbox Talks to ensure you have a complete understanding of what is required, prior to commencement of work
- To preserve and maintain all company tools and equipment in your care
The Ideal Candidate:
- Good ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Good CNC programming and machining skills in an engineering workshop
- Have a good knowledge and experience of machining various different metals such as carbon and alloy steel / bronzes / stainless steels and nickel alloys
- Have a good understanding of surface finishes and the speeds, feeds and inserts used to achieve these
- Have a good knowledge of machine shop practices such as machine set-up and measurement of parts
- Good communication skills
Qualifications / Experience:
- Successfully completed 4-year engineering apprenticeship, or min 5 years' experience as a machinist.
