We have a fantastic opportunity to join an exciting, expanding and rapidly evolving area within MBDA, we are looking for an Engineering Lead to join our Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) team.

Job Title: Electromagnetic Warfare Weapons System Lead

Salary: Up to £68,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage, Bristol or Bolton (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Typically 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

At MBDA, we are expanding our Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) capabilities. Our EW Group plays a crucial role in supporting activities on various weapon system and missile programs. This includes responsibilities such as weapon system design and verification, system integration, RF system design, threat analysis, and modelling & simulation activities related to EW capability and performance. Join us as we continue to enhance our expertise in this critical area.

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to join our team! This role involves overseeing all aspects of a Weapon System's EW capability, from system design to integration, while ensuring everything is fit for purpose within set timelines and budget. As the EW requirements authority and system design lead, you will collaborate with suppliers, customers, and various stakeholders.

Join us to shape and deliver the MBDA UK EW Capability roadmap and industrial strategy. Work alongside a team of highly talented and passionate EW engineers. We offer support for personal development to enhance your knowledge and understanding of EW Systems.

What we're looking for from you:

  • A strong understanding of systems engineering methods, toolsets, and processes.
  • Ideally, experience of Weapon System systems design and validation. However, experience of a complex system's product development is essential.
  • Experience working across the full engineering development lifecycle.
  • Experience of carrying out systems integration.
  • An understanding of Electromagnetic Countermeasures and Electromagnetic Support / Surveillance systems.
  • A strong record of delivery, including bidding experience.
  • Experience in capability assessments and road-mapping.
  • Track record of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in requirements management toolsets (e.g. DOORS).
  • Candidates must hold, or be willing to apply for, DV clearance.
