Interim Payroll Officer - full or part time

Are you an experienced Interim Payroll Officer looking for a long term contract? Do you have either public sector or education experience? Are you immediately available or on a short notice period?

The role has the potential to be done full time or part time. The organisation is very flexible in offering either three, four or five days per week. If three or four days per week this could be done either full days or shorter days spread across five days per week.

Robertson Bell are partnering with an educational organisation in West Berkshire to recruit an Interim Payroll Officer for a 12 month contract. The role reports into the Director of Finance and offers flexible working.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Be responsible for the administration of payroll ensuring that the Payroll Bureau have all the information required to run payroll. The payroll is a monthly payroll for circa 500 employees.
  • Be the main point of contact internally for payroll queries.
  • Complete the calculations for Teachers Pension Scheme.
  • Spotting payroll and pension anomalies and making sure there are no mistakes.
  • Other ad hoc projects including Expense analysis.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced payroll officer capable of completing the above responsibilities.
  • Have previous education or public sector experience.
  • Have strong attention to detail.
  • Be immediately available or on a short notice period.
