We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll collaborate with the lead teacher to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Your efforts will help students excel both academically and personally as you assist with lesson delivery, classroom management, and provide individualized support.

Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Work with the lead teacher to deliver effective lessons, supporting individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Provide additional support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they stay engaged and keep pace with the curriculum.
  • Conduct review sessions, tutoring, and extra practice to enhance students' grasp of key concepts.
  • Help maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment, addressing any behavioral issues as needed.
  • Assist in the setup and preparation of classroom materials and resources for daily activities and lessons.
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-classroom periods, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Aid in the preparation, organization, and distribution of instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
  • Support in grading assignments, recording grades, and keeping accurate records of student progress.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining classroom displays, bulletin boards, and other educational visuals.
  • Build positive relationships with students, encouraging their active participation and interest in learning.
  • Support students' social and emotional development by offering guidance and fostering a nurturing environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to address academic or behavioral concerns and promote student success.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on educational best practices and new teaching strategies that can be integrated into your role.

Qualifications for a Teaching Assistant:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a true passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and follow the lead teacher's guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Classroom).
