Electrical Fitter (Crane Maintenance)

We are currently recruiting for Electrical Fitters (crane maintenance) for our client's who are at the forefront of supporting the Royal Navy fleet of warships at their Devonport Dockyard Site.

You will be supporting the refitting and maintenance of some of the most complex assets that the Royal Navy has at its disposal.

The role will be to ensuring the serviceability and availability of the Cranes, undertaking nuclear refuel and defuel facility maintenance,which is an essential part of our client's capability to deliver projects for the Royal Navy on time and to cost.

Key work activities include:

  • Electrical fault finding on motors and systems.
  • Motor disconnection/reconnection.
  • Lighting replacement and testing.
  • LIVIC and LOTTO
  • Planned maintenance inspection and testing on plant and systems.

Candidates will be required to:

  • Ability to obtain security up to SC
  • Comfortable with their ability to work at height.
  • Work within radiological areas
  • Undergo training to operate forklift trucks, MEWPs and Scissor Lifts.
  • Work within a Registered Agreement which includes a shift working pattern.

Experience:

  • Strong electrical engineering background
  • Competent in the use of general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the

role of electrical fitter.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret work instructions.
  • Proven track record of completing work to time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Ideally will have worked on Rail Tugs and Cranes but not essential.

Qualifications

  • Indentured Apprenticeship or
  • Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in an electrical discipline or
  • Armed Forces PO/CPO/NCO with electrical specialisation.

Abilty to obtain and hold SC Clearance is a requirement of this role.
