Job Opportunity: Service Charge Accountant

This position will involve managing the accuracy and integrity of service charge accounts while providing financial insights to support the property managers in their forecasting and reporting duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and manage annual service charge budgets, ensuring correct allocations and clear, up-to-date documentation.
- Handle the regular billing process for service charges, ground rent, and other related fees to leaseholders.
- Prepare year-end service charge accounts within specified deadlines, coordinating with external accountants for review.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations for client accounts, ensuring compliance with financial controls and industry standards.
- Apply knowledge of the RICS Code to daily responsibilities.
- Generate and review management reports with property managers and clients, analysing expenditure against budget, arrears, cash flow, and reserve funds.
- Monitor and manage the invoicing and payment processes for contractors, adhering to procurement and financial guidelines.
- Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries from freeholders, leaseholders, and clients, resolving complex service charge issues through phone or email.
- Provide administrative support, including maintaining accurate data in relevant accounting systems.
