Are you an organised and capable transport planner looking to work for a global business that has been operating for over 100 years and who actively trains and promotes from within?
Are you from a logistics or fleet management background with liquids and intermodal experience looking to progress your career with extensive training and development and looking to enjoy an agile working environment with a great work life balance?
On offer is a role where you will be responsible for planning UK transport in a specialist sector ensuring that the logistics are efficient and cost effective, you will be given extensive training and development to progress your skill and develop your career.
This role would suit someone who is very well organised, logical, keen to progress and who has strong numeracy and literacy skills.
The responsibilities:
- Cost effective planning of all vehicle routes by fully utilising a range of modalities to the required level of customer service
- Maintaining an excellent working knowledge of all legislation that is relevant to the transport industry and working in accordance with this
- Managing driver hours - start / finish times and route optimisation
- Managing and ensuring adequate resource is available i.e. drivers and transportation methods.
- Communicating with third party sub-contractors
- Good knowledge of planning systems and processes
- Processing departmental documentation and drivers' paperwork
- Responding to telephone calls, emails etc. in a timely manner by providing a friendly and supportive service
The person:
- Experience of working in a similar role with a global company in a planning logistics network and fleet management
